This is the 2nd Album by Nuclear Whale, also known as Jonathan Ridley and was created over a fairly feverish period of about 9 months.
The album was created using mostly analogue instruments and spliced together and mixed in Ableton 9.
Instrument list: DSI Tempest, DSI Mopho, DSI Evolver, Kaoss Pad3, DD7 Delay Pedal, Alesis Micron.
This work is about a secular apocalypse, the feeling of being cheated of our futures by the wealthy, the search for deeper truths within, and the hope for a better world.
The paintings presented on the cover and Inlay are a very important part of the overall vision explored in this piece of music and explore the same themes.
The Looming machine is about feeling powerless and what we decide to do about that.
And its also about breaking free.
